Emergency After Hours Service

Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre Mid North Coast, operates an emergency after hours service for Carers who have emergency respite needs outside normal Centre office hours.
This service can respond to and assist Carers with practical assistance with respite in times of emergency or crisis.

When can this service be accessed

This service is available to Carers in times of crisis, such as;

• the Carer, is not well
• the Carer is hospitalised
• There is a crisis/death in the immediate family that requires the Carer to be present
• The demands of caring are too much and the Carer needs an immediate break from their caring role

When does this service operate?

• Overnight 4.30 pm to 8.30am Monday to Friday
• Weekends; 4.30pm Friday to 8.30am Monday
• Public Holidays

What does this service do?

When phoning the 1800 052 222 number out of office hours, the after hours service will:

• Assess the situation
• Ask the nature of the emergency
• Endeavour to locate a service in the local area to provide the respite immediately, if required

Our Service Coordinators will re-assess the situation on the next working day to see if ongoing care is needed
