The Mid and Far North Coast Carer Respite Centres are two of over 63 Carer Respite Centres across Australia. The centres are part of the Federal Government's National Respite for Carers Program. Their main source of funding is the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing, with some funding from the Department of Family and Community Services since March 2000. Both the Mid and Far North Coast Carer Respite Centres are managed by The United Protestant Association of NSW Ltd, North Coast Region. There are 18 Centres established in NSW each covering a HACC (Home and Community Care) planning region. The Centres use a national free-call number, 1800 059 059. The Mid North Coast Carer Respite Centre is based in Macksville and helps carers throughout the Mid North Coast from Woolgoolga in the North to Hawkes Nest in the South. Contact us. The Far North Coast Carer Respite Centre has two outlets, one in Grafton and one in Alstonville. The area covered by the centre is from the QLD/NSW border down to just north of Woolgoolga and out to the eastern side of the New England Highway. Contact us. Both the Far and Mid North Coast Carer Respite Centres (FNC CRC and MNC CRC) were established in December 1997 and have grown to provide a wide range of services.
